THE LATE GREATS

The Late Great By Nick Quantrill

Having been convinced by their manager, Kane Major, to put their acrimonious break-up behind them and launch a comeback, New Holland, Hull’s most successful band of the 1990s, is reforming. Allowing one privileged journalist to document the process.

Joe Geraghty is employed to act as a liaison between the different camps. What appears to be a straightforward assignment sees him neck deep in trouble when singer, Greg Tasker, disappears leaving behind a trail of people who wanted him out of their lives. Geraghty has to choose sides and the investigation penetrates deeper into the city. As the rich and famous rub shoulders with the poor and vulnerable, the stakes increase. Forced to keep his friends close but his enemies’ closer still, the case could see Joe Geraghty lose everything.

WHY WE SING – KIRK FRANKLIN

Someone asked the question
Why do we sing?
When we lift our hands to Jesus
What do we really mean?

Someone may be wondering
When we sing our song
At times we maybe crying
And nothing’s even wrong

I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
That’s the reason why I sing

Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing
Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing

Someone asked the question
Why do we sing?
When we lift our hands to Jesus
What do we really mean?

Someone may be wondering
When we sing our song
At times we maybe crying
And nothing’s even wrong

I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
That’s the reason why I sing

Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing
Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing

Glory, hallelujah
I give the praises to You
Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing

And when the song is over
We’ve all said ‘Amen’
and your heart just keep on singing
And the song will never end

And if somebody asks you
Was it just a show
Lift your hands and be a witness
And tell the whole world ‘no’

And when we cross that river
To study war no more
We will sing our song to Jesus
The one whom we adore

I sing because I’m happy
I sing because I’m free
His eye is on the sparrow
That’s the reason why I sing

Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing
Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing

Glory, hallelujah
I give the praises to You
Glory, hallelujah
You’re the reason why I sing

You’re the reason why I sing
You’re the reason why I sing
You’re the reason why I sing
You’re the reason why I sing
You’re the reason why I sing

God is still waiting with an open arms, all you gotta do is run to Him. Have a terrific thursday.

ED SHEERAN – THINKING OUT LOUD

For my friday morning. Can’t get enough of the lyrics. It’s so beautiful.

When your legs don’t work like they used to before
And I can’t sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks

And darling I will be loving you ’til we’re 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are

When my hair’s all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don’t remember my name
When my hands don’t play the strings the same way, mm
I know you will still love me the same

‘Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it’s evergreen
Baby your smile’s forever in my mind and memory

I’m thinking ’bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe it’s all part of a plan
I’ll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you’ll understand

But baby now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are, oh

(Ah la la, la la la, la la la, la la la la)

So baby now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh darling, place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are

Oh maybe we found love right where we are
And we found love right where we are

THE SECRET LOVER

In New Orleans, musicians are being murdered. But Arnie Watson apparently died by his own hand. When Tyler Anderson plays the saxophone he inherited from Arnie, a soldier and musician who died soon after his return, he believes he sees visions of his friend’s life and death. He becomes convinced Arnie was murdered and that the instrument had something to do with whatever happened, and with whatever’s happening all over the city.Tyler knows his theory sounds crazy to the police, so he approaches Danni Cafferty, hoping she and Michael Quinn will find out what the cops couldn’t. Or wouldn’t. After all, Cafferty and Quinn have become famous for solving unusual crimes. They’re partners in their personal lives, too. Quinn’s a private investigator and Danni works with him. When they look into the case, they discover a secret lover of Arnie’s and a history of jealousies and old hatreds that leads them back to the band Arnie once played with and Tyler plays with now. They discover that sometimes, for some people, the line between passion and obsession is hard to draw. Only in uncovering the truth can they hope to save others and themselves from the deadly hands of a killer.
